ABOUT PETER

He built an extraordinary network by practicing what he teaches.

THE TURNING POINT

Peter Pasternack's relationship with people began long before networking became part of his career.

Born prematurely after his mother became seriously ill during pregnancy, Peter faced significant health challenges from the beginning. By the time he was five, he had undergone nine operations. He had very limited hearing during those early years and later spent three years in speech therapy learning to speak phonetically.

He also knew what it felt like to be different. To be bullied. To struggle to connect.

Then, at 22, Peter became seriously ill and landed in the hospital. Doctors didn't initially know what was wrong. Lying there, uncertain about what would happen next, Peter had a realization that stayed with him:

If his life ended, he wasn't sure there was one person who would truly miss him.

That became a turning point.

Peter made a decision that his life would positively affect other people. His first mission was simple: when his life was over, at least one person would miss him.

Over time, that mission became something bigger.

“Every day I will positively affect as many people as possible.”

THE CAREER

Numbers, businesses, and people.

Peter's love of numbers led him to the University of Georgia, where he earned both undergraduate and master's degrees in accounting. He began his career as a CPA at Price Waterhouse before transitioning into commercial banking.

Over the next 20 years, Peter financed more than 500 businesses, giving him a front-row seat to the decisions, relationships, and habits that helped some businesses thrive while others struggled.

Eventually, his entrepreneurial side took over.

Peter became a business owner, entered real estate with his business partner, and within a year found himself on national television. For three seasons, Peter was a lead character on A&E's Flip This House, bringing the same energy and business perspective audiences recognize from him today.

But through every chapter — accounting, banking, entrepreneurship, real estate, and television — one thing remained constant:

Peter's ability to build and nurture relationships with people.

THE COMMUNITY

In 2010, he turned relationships into a movement.

After years of attending networking events, Peter saw a problem. Too many rooms were full of people exchanging cards without creating meaningful connections.

So he created the kind of community he wanted to be part of.

In 2010, Peter founded Real Estate Connections, bringing together professionals who could build relationships, share ideas, help one another, and grow their businesses.

What started as a networking event became something much bigger. For years, hundreds of professionals have gathered through Real Estate Connections, while the broader community has grown to more than 22,000 people.

It became living proof of something Peter had believed for years:

A database isn't a list of names. It's a community you build and nurture one relationship at a time.

THE PHILOSOPHY

Relationships aren't something Peter teaches. They're how he lives.

Be interested, not interesting.

The strongest relationships begin when the focus moves away from what you can get and toward genuinely understanding another person.

Help first.

Peter approaches relationships from abundance. Helping someone else succeed doesn't take opportunity away from you, it creates more opportunity for everyone.

Play the long game.

Real relationships aren't built in one conversation. They require consistency, follow-up, genuine interest, and the willingness to stay connected long after the introduction.

“It's more important to be interested than interesting.”

THE MISSION TODAY

The same mission, on every stage.

Today, Peter brings decades of business experience and a lifetime of relationship-building to audiences across industries.

He doesn't ask people to become better networkers by handing them theory. He shows them what he actually does, how he starts conversations, stays connected, nurtures relationships, creates value for others, and builds communities that last.

Through keynotes, workshops, and coaching, Peter helps audiences become more intentional about the relationships already around them, and the ones they haven't built yet.

Because whether you're growing a business, leading a team, building a career, or creating a community, Peter believes the foundation is the same:

People.
